According to PD 305/1996 the contractor for the entire project shall, prior to the commencement of the construction site, prepare a Safety and Health Plan as well as a Safety and Health Record.
The Health and Safety Plan outlines and clarifies:
- Rules to be applied at the construction site, taking into account any operating activities carried out at the place of the construction site.
- Specific measures for work involving special hazards.
More specifically the Health and Safety Plan includes:
- Access to the construction site and secure access to all posts.
- Phase-by-step breakdown analysis.
- Pedestrian and vehicle traffic on the construction site.
- Step by step analysis of work methods.
- Specifying material storage areas and how to collect waste.
- Conditions for collecting hazardous materials.
- The arrangement of sanitary, dining and first aid places.
- The scaffolding study when not described in the applicable provisions.
Health and Safety Record
The Health and Safety Record includes:
- The project's design and technical description.
- Instructions, useful safety and health information that should be taken into account during any subsequent work throughout the life of the project, such as maintenance, cleaning, etc. Indicatevely, all these instructions and data refer to a safe way of performing various tasks, while avoiding the risks from the various networks (water supply, electricity, gas, steam, etc.), fire safety etc.
